Below, you’ll find a few studio glimpses into our creation process. From early sketches to color studies, in-progress screenshots, or surprises that unfolded way before artwork files were finalized for print!
Details about the process
Our careful process includes early sketch development, painting and repainting, retouching, some detail cleanup, color and tonal balance, and final prep for print formats. Some art pieces need less work, others need several passes, including adjusting resolution and/or upscaling for the largest formats, using the highest industry standard. We check detail readability of different print sizes, and also refine contrast and color as needed, so they stay fresh on your wall, preserving original intent behind each artwork.
Sketch examples and how our artists tend to work
Messy lines or half-formed silhouettes, that’s how most sketches start, only to evolve towards the actual early drafts. Something like a half-colored art with one beautiful detail or filling, without a clear name yet, sometimes with background detail or contours. A mood that might still be evolving, or at least open to reinterpretation, until the final work can begin.
Before the final print: From layers to wall art
In the middle of all that creative process, over hours of designing and editing, there is quite a lot that goes into the piece getting finished. With digital painting in particular, during mid-process it may be a real mess, filled with layers, some visible and some hidden, various edits in progress, color tweaks still being tested or locked in. Different artists have different approaches to their working environment, for example in Photoshop. Some we’ve met are more organized with neat layer labels, but more often than not… it’s just pure chaos 🙂 (but artists be artist, so no surprise there!)
We do not accept order cancellation because orders with submitted payments already end up in our production pipeline, and once production process has started, it is impossible to reverse the process. Please, buy with intent.
